After reading Matthew 26:1-29, this is my Thanksgiving prayer:
Father, thank you for the sacrifice of Jesus Your Son and how His love became our pardon, His blood our payment, His sacrifice our healing, His surrender our victory, His shed blood our cleansing, His death our life, and His truth our light. Thank You for entering our sin-torn world, our feeble skin, our chaos to bring Your peace. Thank You for bridging the vast gap between Your holiness and our neediness. Thank You for reconciling indifferent human beings to Yourself. Thank You for persisting when we are fickle, belligerent and self-indulgent and blind. I need You. I am thankful that you loved us beyond all reason and didn't abandon us to our own failure.
