A "triumphal entry," difficult to see,
While a Roman cross is awaiting Me.
In a demonstration of humility,
He entered town on a young donkey.
As the prophet said so long ago,
This is the way Messiah would show,
That the way to peace is not through might,
But a laid down life, making things right.
And the crowd like actors in a play,
Spread their cloaks along the way.
And palm branches, too, to line the path,
And cries of worship, "Hosana at last!"
And the city was stirred,
At the unlikely mission,
Of a small town Carpenter's,
Superb submission.
