Missionary’s Musings, January 2015

Sometimes a New Year brings inspiration for breakthroughs and significant changes and sometimes we approach the New Year with a workman like attitude.  Probably for me it is the latter right now; it’s time for shoe leather and sweat.  Whether you are inspired or simply plodding on, putting one foot in front of the other, here are some opportunities that we hope capture your attention in early 2015.

Children’s Camp planning meeting, January 12th at the MBA at 6:30 PM.  This is an opportunity to sharpen our preparation for Children’s Camp this summer.  Camp will be July 6-9 at the Savannah Baptist Assembly in Guyton.

Executive Committee Meeting, January 29th at 6:30 pm. Each MBA church should have messengers that are represented at Executive committee.  It is an opportunity to be informed and involved with the direction of associational ministry. We are currently fleshing out a ministry vision process.

Spring Inspirational Meeting, March 22nd at Pineora Baptist Church at 6 PM.  Larry Wynn of the GA Baptist Convention and former pastor of Hebron Baptist Church will be our speaker.  Aaron Webb of Newington Baptist will preach as well.  We encourage each congregation to move their service so that we can worship together corporately.

Mission trip info meeting/Acts 1:8 team meeting, April 13th at 6:30 pm at the MBA.  We are planning to go to Cleveland, TN again this year to work with Ocoee Outreach in Appalachia.  Our trip is scheduled for June 28th – July 3rd.  We can take around 40 people.  We will do construction, BYBC and VBS and probably a block party/canvassing.

Obviously these are just a few ministry opportunities; we hope you will keep your eyes on the Lighthouse for other upcoming events, of which there are PLENTY!

We exist to serve and bless the churches of the Middle Baptist Association.  Our goal is to help you connect to your community and with other MBA churches to share the Gospel and help change lives!

Blessings!

Bobby Braswell, Jr.
